Goodbye + Hello

January 5, 2016 - 5:45 am

After spending 5 whole days on the road and 3 days in Seattle, it was time to part ways.  I guess it was a good thing it was so early because this was the morning we had to tell my parents goodbye.  Maybe if we had gotten more sleep, we would've been able to process our emotions a little bit more.

As I had mentioned in my first post, what ended up happening with our move was the biggest blessing we could've ever gotten.  I don't know what Andrew and I would've done if my parents weren't with us.  My mom is basically a genius when it comes to travel - finding the best deals, deciding the best routes, following a map (an actual map).  Plus, my dad looked up the weather along the way, even calling the Department of Transportation in some states to check road conditions.  Seriously, a blessing!

So thank you mom and dad!  I don't know what I would've done without you both for the past 25 years, but especially with this move.  You helped keep me sane (well, mostly) through the whole process and trip.  I love you both SO MUCH!

That morning we weren't just saying goodbye, we were saying hello to our new beginning.  We were officially on our own.  And it was time for us to get acquainted with our new city.
