The Gray Beginning

So there we were... on our own.  It was our first weekend in Seattle with just the two of us.  And it was perfect.  It was so perfect that we were actually starting to question whether Seattle was as "gray" as everyone made it out to be.

We decided to go exploring on Saturday.  We walked to Pacific Place and Westlake Center (the mall) which is only a few blocks away from the market.  I fell in love with this area when we were visiting a few months back.  While Andrew was interviewing for his job, I walked there to go shopping and have lunch.  It reminds me so much of New York City.  And it doesn't hurt that it has most of my favorite stores (Nordstrom, Zara, H&M, Banana Republic, J.Crew, etc.).  It was Andrew's first time there and the first thing he said was that it reminded him of New York (if you're wondering, yes we are SO meant for each other :).

After getting some lunch, we rode the Monorail from the mall to the Space Needle.  We have looked at the Space Needle every single day since being here (we have a great view from the apartment's rooftop deck) and oddly enough we hadn't actually seen it up close and personal yet.  Sadly there are no pictures from this part of the day - once we got on the Monorail, we decided to put up our phones and take in the views.  No worries, we will take this route another time and get some good pics!  In the meantime, you have to check out the Space Needle's interactive website here and scroll up... just trust me.  We ended the day with 2 Powerball tickets and a few Redbox movies - ahh, the ingredients for a perfect Saturday night.

We were all smiles before finding out we didn't win :(

On Sunday morning, we visited Judah Smith's (author of Jesus Is___.) The City Church and loved it!  It was everything that we needed - the worship, the sermon, the community.  We went to Starbucks afterwards (of course!) and then went home to watch the Seahawks game (it's not considered being bandwagon fans since we actually live here now, right?!).

It was in the 50's so we decided to take the dogs on a little walk to a nearby park.  You can't beat sunshine and quality time with the hubby and pups!
