Valentine's Weekend

Since our wedding anniversary is only one week away, Andrew and I didn't have a big Valentine's Day celebration.  We've never really made a big deal about Valentine's Day anyways, but it's always fun to have a reason to celebrate love!  Especially our love (because it's my favorite)!

I have been making a list of places for us to go and things for us to do here in Seattle, and we got to mark a few of them off this weekend.  One of the places on my list was a brunch spot - Portage Bay Cafe - that I had heard was amazing.  Since brunch is one of our favorite things about life, we decided to try it out on Saturday.  OH. MY. GOSH.  To say this place is "good" is a huge understatement!  If you are ever in the Seattle area, you HAVE to try it out.  I can't wait to go back and try the biscuits and gravy!

After stuffing our faces (and barely being able to move), we went to an area called University Village.  We hadn't been to this area yet, so we were excited to explore.  We had a great time walking around looking at all the different stores.  Andrew bought me a new coat (that I can't wait to wear) for an early Valentine's gift and we got some yummy chocolate truffles and champagne jelly beans from The Confectionery.

We ended our Saturday night with a Valentine's Day karaoke party in our apartment building.  We haven't really had the chance to meet too many people since we've been here, so we decided to go check it out.  Plus, we couldn't miss out on the free food and drinks!  We ended up meeting so many neighbors and had the best time getting to know one another.

I tried to convince Andrew to sing karaoke with me, but he wouldn't - so I made him fake this picture

FUN FACT:  Andrew and I had our very first date on Valentine's Day in 2011!

It was our 6th Valentine's Day together and it was very low-key this year.  We spent most of the day relaxing at home, and then walked to Target to get some pizza and chocolate, of course!  We always enjoy just walking around getting to know our new city.

Valentine's Day

I can't believe that our one year wedding anniversary is only one week away!  I love that our anniversary is close to Valentine's Day because we get to celebrate the love that we have for each other for 2 weeks straight!
