As we were lounging around on Saturday and trying to figure out what we were going to do, Andrew came across a picture of Discovery Park on Instagram and we immediately decided we needed to go! The picture we saw was at the "beach" area and was so beautiful that we couldn't pass it up.

We didn't know anything about Discovery Park before going and just decided to wing it. We thought that we'd be able to drive right to the area we wanted to go - get out of the car, take in the views, and of course, take some pictures! However, upon entering the park, we learned that was not going to be the case. We were going to have to hike to the waterfront. To say that neither one of us were dressed to go hiking is a huge understatement, but the hike wasn't going to be too long, so we just went with it.

By the time we made it to North Beach, we knew that the hike was well worth it! This beach was different than any other that we've been too - it was full of rocks and rocky cliffs. We stayed for quite a while taking in the views of the Puget Sound and enjoying each other's company.

As we walked back to the car, we talked about wanting to come back in the summertime to have a picnic and bring the pups with us. Next time, we will definitely be better dressed and more prepared!

As we keep discovering all that Seattle has to offer, we've come to learn that it really can't be defined. There are so many beautiful places that are right in our "backyard"! We feel so blessed to have the opportunity of living in this amazing area and getting to explore new places together.
